Rates and Payments

High Season October – April

Mariposa Mexico is rented at different prices depending on the length of the guests stay. The high season Oct-April rates are 20% higher than in low season months of May-September. In the rainy season or low season Summer months, there can be heavy rain bursts that do not usually last long. It is in these months that the semi-arid countryside comes to life with pink, yellow and blue flowers and the surrounding farmlands are ripe with fresh vegetables and fruit.

Low season May – September

A minimum stay is 1 week unless special arrangements are made. One week would be arrival on Monday and departure by Tuesday of the next week. Check out time is 10:00 AM.

The following Home rental payment chart is based on US $ for 1 week. You must add 4% for Mexican rental taxes on all prices listed below.


High season:

The maid or manager will meet you upon arrival at the house and give you keys. This person will also explain how to work the appliances and electronics (In case of the maid, please tip 150 pesos in Mexican currency for this service)

Four hours of cleaning service, 3 times per week is included. Maid’s hours 8:00 AM – 12:00 AM (Please also tip the maid upon departure – minimum 50 pesos per family member per week)

The bedroom fireplaces are run by gas. Guests will be charged if it is necessary to replace the gas container.

Cleaning departure fee

Sheets are changed once per week. If you will need more than this, there will be a surcharge of $25 for each additional change. Towels are washed on a regular basis.

Each guest is charged a departure cleaning fee of $45.00 Any cleaning that is in excess of 4 hours will be subtracted from the security deposit.

Once you have a received a confirmation of availability, you must make a 50% down payment in order to confirm a reservation. Reservations are confirmed only upon receipt of this down payment.

A receipt will then be mailed to guests indicating the dates reserved, the amount paid and the number of guests registered. For payment, please choose from one of the following options:

Final payment

The remaining 50% payment (see security deposit below) must be made one month prior to arrival.

Security deposit

A security deposit equivalent to 20% of your total rental payment is required with this final payment. Deductions from the security deposit will be made for damages in general to the home, for rings on furniture or for misplaced, missing or broken items as well as scratches, burns, spotted rugs and bed spreads in the case spots cannot be removed with cleaning.

Telephone charges during your stay will also be deducted from the security deposit as soon as the charges can be calculated from the Mexican telephone bill, usually 90 days following checkout. We would highly recommend your own cell phones or an American cell phone that can also be purchased through T-Mobile for international calls. Return of security deposits

Parties and get-togethers are not permitted unless approved in advance. Security deposits will be returned following the control of the house, 1 month after the departure date or within the necessary time to calculate phone charges. We will gladly rebook for a different available date. We cannot accept cancellations after 120 days prior to the day of arrival. We would suggest the following travel insurance for further coverage.
